Mark has been involved in CrossFit since 2011 and has an extensive and distinguished background in athletics. A former National Champion gymnast, NCAA All-American, guest instructor and speaker nationwide, Mark has coached at all levels of athletics. Originally from upstate New York, Mark has coached many CrossFit athletes, gymnasts, and cheerleaders from youth, through the collegiate level and beyond. A former strength and conditioning trainer, Mark developed his passion for CrossFit after serving in the US Army Special Forces as a green beret. Since then, he has catapulted into the southeast region as one of the top master's age competitors and is on the brink of qualifying for the CrossFit Games. His accolades include podium finishes at such events as the Wodlife Winter Games, Wodlife Summer Games, The Garage Games, The Dirty South Games, The Forged Games, The Southeast Throwdown, The Reindeer Games, Pound for Pound, Without Limits, Charlie's Angels, Tuff Love, Crush Games (top 10) and recently finished 3rd in the world during the Reebok CrossFit Team Series. Mark's talents were also recognized by the GRID and received 4 invitations to compete at PRODAY for the National Professional Grid League where he had the top score in his division earning him a spot at the NPGL Combine. Mark is a CFL1, CFL2 trainer, and CF Gymnastics certified. Mark has been a certified CrossFit judge since 2012. Mark has worked the CrossFit Regional Events and recently served as the lead judge for the CrossFit "Super" Atlantic Regional in 2015. He has competed each year in the CrossFit open, boasting a top 200 finish previously. During the 2015 season, over 250,000 athletes worldwide competed in the CrossFit Open. Mark finished ranked 355th in the world. When Mark isn't working as a police officer in the city of Birmingham, Alabama, he can be found coaching at CrossFit Trussville and doing what he describes as his favorite job in the world, being a Dad. Mark is currently a sponsored athlete who trains in hopes of qualifying for the Reebok CrossFit Games.
